Over the past year, the NWProvince website went through a massive overhaul with improvements to both its functionality and its underpinnings. (Click here to see the old website.) I want to take the time to go over some of the more poignant additions. I first want to speak to the work that has been done to the back-end of the website. One of the underlying goals I had for my year in office was that any implementation I would partake in, would be sustainable and manageable for the future and I think the website we have now meets that goal. The website was built under a fluid architecture so that texts and images will automatically resize to its optimal dimensions no matter the screen size you are viewing from. We have also decided to encrypt the website so that all fraternity related dealings can be kept confidential and brother’s information will remain safe from theft. The website is also connected to many of the other services the province uses in its business dealings to insure uninterrupted and unfettered access to data exchanged with various platforms. However, I am most excited about the new services we have rolled out to our brothers.
For many years, the delegation has been asking for a unified calendar so brothers can see what is going on around the province. I am happy to announce that a unified calendar has finally arrived. Integration with Facebook will be rolling out shortly, as well. Other additions include a fundraising page to submit new ideas and search for fundraisers that other chapters have found success in. The Province board has also decided to roll-out a new voluntary program to help chapters manage their own website. If a chapter desires, they have the option to port their website under NWProvince’s domain saving the chapter both financial and technical burden from maintaining a website.
For the sake of brevity, I will not continue lamenting on about the other dozen changes we have implemented in the past year. If there are any suggestion for improvement to the website or any questions you would like to ask the board, feel free to press the “Contact Us” button located on the top right of the website. We are happy to have improved our average response time to under three hours.
It’s been an honor serving all my fellow brothers of Kappa Psi and I thank the board members that I have had the pleasure of working closely with.
Proud to be your Brother,
